Accelerated Reader for Monitoring Reading Practice

We are so excited to have access to the entire catalog of AR tests.

A new and improved version of the Accelerated Reader software is now available at elementary and middle schools in the Douglas County School System.  This new version of AR allows students to access nearly 150,000 AR tests in an updated and user friendly web-based version of the software.  In AR, students have individual reading goals based on their own academic needs.

Parents and families can track student progress in AR by going to Renaissance Home Connect.  You will need your student's login and password to access this account.  If you'd like to receive emails showing your student's quiz or test results, click the Email Setup link in Renaissance Home Connect and follow the directions. To be sure these emails reach your inbox, add to your address book.

You can see if your own books have AR tests by going to AR Book Find

We look forward to a great year of reading practice with the new Accelerated Reader Enterprise from Renaissance Learning.

This is a great resource to use for novel study.  There are activities, videos, Readers' Theater scripts, and much more.  Students use this log in:

About TumbleBooks:
TumbleBooks is a collection of online read-along titles in categories such as Early Readers, Chapter Books, Teen Fiction, Classics, and Drama/Poetry. The collection also includes downloadable Ebooks, which may be downloaded for 90 days. Download as many titles as you'd like at one time!

The Read-Alongs highlight the sentences as they are narrated aloud, turn the page automatically, and offer the ability to customize your screen by changing the font size and screen/text colour, to name just a few options.

Read-Alongs are great for emergent, struggling, and reluctant readers, and are an excellent tool for ESL students. With a fun, stylish interface, Read-Alongs will also appeal to accomplished readers who are excited to follow along to the narration of their favorite books.
