Experience

After graduating from UWG in the winter of 2000, I immediatly got a job in Paulding County at Union Elementary School teaching 4th grade.  I continued in 4th grade the following year and then decided to change grade levels and moved to 2nd grade.  I was at Union for a total of of three years and had to unfortunatly leave due to a new school opening and positions being cut.  The move turned out to be a wonderful learning experience where I gained a lot of knowledge and wonderful friendships at Dallas Elementary.  Fortunately, I was hired in 2007 to join a fantastic staff at Winston Elementary teaching 5th grade.  However, that journey was cut short due to another new school being opened and position being cut, which placed me at Mason Creek Elementary teaching 5th grade. In the fall of 2011 I felt a strong desire to make a change and get certified in middle grades mathematics.  I achieved this goal in the spring of 2013 and actively pursued getting a position.  I am so excited to share that my desire to become a middle school math teacher has been fulfilled and this year marks my 4th year teaching 6th grade math at MAMS for the 2017-2018 school year!  I look forward to continuing this journey with the amazing students at MAMS!
